Helical piles for foundation repair

Stop the settling and stabilize the foundation

Helical piles transfer the weight of a sinking or cracking foundation to stable soil below, with compact equipment and minimal disruption to the property.

Why helical piles

Repair that reaches the soil that matters

Reaches stable soil

Piles bypass the weak or shifting layers that caused the settling and bear on firmer soil beneath them.

Works in tight spaces

Compact drive equipment can reach crawl spaces, side yards and basements where a large excavator cannot.

Can restore level

Once piles are installed and bracketed, the structure can be supported, and in many cases lifted back toward level.

Signs of trouble

Why foundations settle

Soft or poorly compacted soil, moisture changes, nearby trees and old fill can all let a footing sink. The first signs are sticking doors and windows, cracks in drywall or brick, sloping floors and gaps at trim.

Pouring more concrete under a settling footing does not fix the soil it is sitting on. Underpinning with piles takes the load past the problem layer.

Repair design should come from a structural engineer or an experienced foundation contractor. We supply the helical piles, extensions and drive tooling to carry it out.

How it works

From assessment to stabilized structure

01

Assess the damage

An engineer or foundation specialist evaluates the settlement and sets the repair plan, pile locations and torque targets.

02

Supply the system

We supply the helical piles, extensions and the drive tooling to reach the required torque in tight access.

03

Install and transfer the load

Drive the piles beside the footing to the required torque, then connect the brackets and transfer the structure's weight to them.

What we supply

Everything for foundation repair

Questions

Helical piles for foundation repair: FAQ

How do helical piles fix a settling foundation?

Piles are driven beside the foundation to firm soil, then connected to the footing with brackets. The structure's weight is carried by the piles instead of the weak soil.

Can the house be lifted back to level?

Often some of it can, depending on the structure and how long it has settled. Lifting should be done gradually under the direction of an engineer or experienced contractor.

Do I need an engineer?

For structural repair, yes, or at least an experienced foundation contractor. A proper assessment decides where piles go and what load they must carry.

Will the work be messy?

Installation involves limited digging at each pile location and no concrete truck, so disruption is usually much less than conventional underpinning.

Where do I get the piles and tooling?

That is what we supply. Tell us about the project and we will help you match piles and drive tooling to the job.
